Deepwater Step by Step (24 of 42)
Well, if your going to have a busy port with a lot of factory workers you really do need a road. I have been struggling with this design element since I started the module. There is NOT a lot of room for a road, and not a really good path for the road to follow. This is my solution. The wide spot by the pier will be for truck turnaround, and you might notice at the curve as it comes to the front edge it gets a little narrow. Overall I settled on 22' wide but at the curve I had to cut back to 20'. The road is formed with 3/32" strip wood, and is made with Sheet rock spackle (mud), a trowel and a steady hand. I like the effect of the ripples and the occasional low spot which will become apparent when its painted. It gives it that well worn blacktop effect.
